Experience

Balpreet has 15 years of experience in the field of mental health, addictions, case management and psychotherapy. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CPRO) as well as a registered member with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers of Ontario (SSW).  Balpreet has a B.A in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law, a diploma in Social Service Work, Diversity and Inclusion Practitioner Certificate, Clinical Supervisor Certificate.  Balpreet has specialized training and experience working with individuals with mental health disorders, complex trauma, military/paramilitary, couples and first/second generation Canadians.   Her practice focuses on counselling and providing goal oriented therapy to individuals and couples in order for them to become active and fulfilled members of their community.

Balpreet has presented at a number of conferences and workshops. She is a leader in the field of program development and case management and has worked with agencies such as Canadian Mental Health Association and Veteran’s Affairs Canada.  Balpreet worked on various projects and created policy and documents for a number of mental health and addiction related programs. 

Balpreet discovered her passion for cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) while working at Canadian Mental Health Association where she witnessed the impact of CBT on clients and their families. This led her to focus her talents towards supervision and supporting new therapist’s in enhancing their skills.
